Following the events of the first film, Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde have been partners in the ZPD for one week, but their clashing personalities makes them an incompatible pairing. After botching an anteater's smuggling ring, Chief Bogo threatens to separate them unless they attend a therapy session managed by quokka Dr. Fuzzby. Judy soon thinks that there might be a snake in Zootopia since during the smuggling job, she found a piece of shed snake skin and some clues dictate that the snake might be at the Zootenial Gala, celebrating 100 years since the city's founding which is being hosted by a family of lynxes who are descendants of Zootopia's founder Ebenezer Lynxley.
